Don't be a hick Anonymous (e690) 703
I've had this idea in the back of my mind for some time but I guess it's time to put it in writing.
As you are aware the holiday season is drawing near and I thought it would be a good idea for us, as fans and as a community, to do something nice for other fans (and chloe to a certain extent).
Here's the gist of it: I propose we have a small fund raiser and with all the money we gift copies of hick to various chloe fans (or potential fans) who haven't seen it for one reason or another.
Now let me address some of the more obvious questions:
>buh, buh I don't wanna give money away
unless you're the poorest of poorfags (a mexican) I'm sure you could make a slight financial effort. Everyone could contribute with a minimum of $10 (that would ensure the cost of ONE copy, no matter if we use netflix, itunes, redbox or whatever)
Because while Kick-Ass and Let Me In are must see movies not just for chloe fans but for people in general, hick had a much more gruesome fate. It was a movie that was crucified by critics (one of the lowest rated movies in the history on RT) and a lot of people probably avoided based on that. Although it would be hard to argue that the movie is good it's definitely not as bad as some make it out to be. Not only that but it was chloe's most demanding role so far and her first leading role. So, this is a must see for chloe fans, and if some decided to pass on it because of the abysmal reviews maybe they will finally get a chance to see it if we gift them a copy.
>who will get the copies and how?
Basically chloe fans (or potential fans) who haven't seen it yet and preferably who wouldn't have seen it otherwise. Depending on how much money we raise and how many copies we have to offer we can extend the search for suitable recipients from this place to IMDB and even to dereck martini himself (I'm sure he'd love to help a bunch of fans purchasing copies of his movie for others to see). Once we know who should get the copies we will gift it to them via a system of their choice (itunes, redbox, netflix or what other suitable alternatives there are - preferably digital distribution)
>how will this work?
if we decide to move forward we will start raising the money via paypal in december so that we could end it after 3 weeks and start gifting the copies during the christmas period.
>how do I know you won't use our hard earned money to fly to bora-bora and wait for chloe to return?
the entire process will be very transparent and there will be no room for suspicion
So, that's pretty much the core of the idea. Just like the movie night idea this is a pitch. If enough people decide to move forward with this we will do it. If not it will just be a nice idea that never got to see the light of day

Here's one question before anything else: Why?
File: 1350682448390.jpg (100.54 KB, 400x400)
If they wanted to see it so bad they would have bought it or torrented it. People who own computers and use Twitter and IMDB don't need charity and especially not for a DVD. This is more pointless than saving the rhinos.>give money to people that I don't know so they can buy a DVD>give money to people that I don't know who need it to have an acceptable standard of living
You guys can waste your money as you please but there is no chance in hell that I would participate.>

The abysimal reviews could have prevented them from buying it and some people don't pirate
>People who own computers and use Twitter and IMDB don't need charity and especially not for a DVD. This is more pointless than saving the rhinos.
so getting some people to experience what is arguably chloe's best performance is pointless to you

because some people might go>I love chloe but that movie got such horrible reviews I don't think I should waster my money on it
but they would see it if it were free

not everyone is that big of a fan, but they could become one
some only saw her in hugo and dark shadows but maybe weren't so blown away (she had small and poor parts to begin with)
this movie would truly show them what she's capable of as an actress

>I actually did a similar thing a few years back with Blackout, Britney Spears album. (Yeah, I'm a Britney fan, too… Guess what, so is Chloë… Problem?)
>I bought 7 copies at the store at release date, then kept one, and gave 6 copies away to friends and family that I knew would never buy Britney's album.
>This way the albums got distributed to someone who might not have heard or would have heard the album - ie reaching a new audience.
>As the others say here, giving Hick copies to Chloë fans seems less ideal, because they already know about Hick.
>You are not getting out to a new audience.
>You are just giving charity copies to poor or lazy people.
>I would rather just buy 10 copies of Hick myself and give them out randomly to people at work or friends etc. to reach other people in hope of them spreading the movie by having their friends come watch it etc.
>But thumbs up for the idea.

A strange idea, but probably I'll can help with it.
It similar as methods of Christianity, isn't good.

I'm glad at least someone likes it>>714>You are not getting out to a new audience.>You are just giving charity copies to poor or lazy people.
Again, you could turn people who only saw one or two movies of her (and least representative ones) into fans by showing them what she's really capable of.

I've very seldom purchases of the disks and other licensed products. Here I've some reasons. I want to buy the Dishonored and will buy it.
If I want to support actors, then I go to the theatre. Torrents. Communism:P I'm hobo. And etc.
Haha, I recall flowers, my delirious.
OP give me a reason.

>>719>OP give me a reason.
I've been doing that for the entire thread
if you don't see it that means it's pointless for me to do it again

>>732>who don't watch movies with horrible reviews
If reviews will keep you from watching a chlomo movie, then you're not a Chloe fan and you don't deserve people spending their money to help you watch the movie you despise.

and who cares if we do?
Anonymous (cde4) 735
no one is born a fan
you become one by … watching her movies
and the more people do that the more fans she gets
File: 1350768396734.jpg (2.6 MB, 3456x4886)
Even if this idea had any possibility of working, you honestly think that it's up to us to spend money on other people so they become fans? As I said, Who cares if they become fans anyway?
Anonymous (cde4) 737
it's about more people experiencing chloe's best performance to date
I would like that
I thought other fans would too, I guess I was wrong

If it was a raffle to see which one of us would get the Blu Ray, ok. But giving it to someone else who's not even a chlobro? Nope!
I know maybe I'm sounding like a jerk, but that's not my intention. I appreciate the idea of giving a Hick Blu Ray to someone, but I don't think we should do it if this person is not a chlobro.
Anonymous (cde4) 739
because such a person might become one if they see hick and they go
"you know what? She's actually a very good actress. I guess that dark shadows and/or hugo gave me the wrong impression"
File: 1350772848175.jpg (522.27 KB, 995x918)
So…we're Chloë's agents/publicists now. And we don't even get paid. Cool.
Anonymous (cde4) 741
I wasn't aware we that letting more people know about her or making them see her movie counts as doing a publicist's work. I guess I confused that with being a fan.
My bad. I guess I should stop advertising this site wherever I can too. I mean what's the point of saying "hey, if you want to see more chloe pics or read more chloe news go to chlomo.org" ? Its not like I'm her publicist or anything and I don't even get paid.
File: 1350774769833.png (41.05 KB, 126x148)
You're not spending your money when you do that. I would donate to a chlobro, but never to a random person.
Anonymous (cde4) 744
I heard that spilling your butt hurt in an unrelated thread also helps>>743
a random person from here or the chloe board on iMDB
a fan or potential fan
